Monday, November 5 – 8 p.m. – no cover
The Royal Room, 5000 Rainier Ave. S, Seattle (easy light-rail access)
Zero-G Concerts comes to the Royal Room to celebrate the series’ second birthday.
With a focus on exploratory electric instrumental music, Zero-G Concerts spotlights a multifarious selection of the region’s most adventurous instrumentalists from diverse scenes, from accomplished veterans to head-turning emerging artists. The Zero-G Concert Series started in 2010 as a circle of like bands promoting their own performances, and has since turned into an organization that has promoted over 70 acts in 40 concerts across three different Seattle venues (Mars Bar, Lucid, and now the Royal Room).
To celebrate the series’ success, the founding members of Zero-G bring their own ensembles together for an impromptu birthday party, enhanced by Courtney Barnebey‘s amazing light show. Rik Wright will start the evening with his Fundamental Forces quartet, joined by some very special guest artists from Zero-G’s history. Jason Goessl will then take the stage with his surrealistic Trimtab trio. Finally, Dennis Rea’s celebrated instrumental jazz-rock group Moraine will put the finishing touches on the night. Please join us in celebrating the series in the music-friendly environs of the Royal Room – if this event is successful, it may open doors to additional Zero-G events there in the future.
