This edition of Zero-G Concerts at Lucid Lounge presents two duo interactions by four musical shapeshifters at the top of their craft.

Kate Olson /Geoff Harper Duo (9 p.m.)
A multi-instrumentalist specializing in jazz and free improvisation, Kate Olson’s performance experience is exceptionally diverse, from cruise ship shows to performing original jazz in Slovakia. She has played in over 20 musical theater pit orchestras and currently performs with the Seattle Women’s Jazz Orchestra, Syrinx, Ask the Ages, Sugarpants, and many other projects. Seattle bass mainstay Geoff Harper has propelled countless Northwest jazz groups, from the mainstream to the outer limits, and is widely renowned for his rich tone, authoritative command of the instrument, and sly sense of humor.

Don Berman / Stephen Fandrich Duo (10 p.m.)
Don Berman is a ubiquitous, eclectic, and indefatigable character in the Seattle music world. A conservatory trained Midwestern percussionist turned longtime Seattle resident, and participant in what he calls the Seattle NOKUM (Northwest Outside Kreative Underground Musicians) scene, for this Zero-G show Don will be playing a freely improvised set with his esteemed colleague Stephen Fandrich on keyboards. Part of a family of piano innovators, Stephen Fandrich’s pianism is renowned throughout the Northwest in both classical and jazz circles. He has performed all around the Northwest and in Alaska, New York, Hawaii, Canada, Central Java, and Bali and has long been a key member of the Monktail Creative Music Concern.
