9 p.m. Rik Wright’s Fundamental Forces

“Blue”, the debut release by Fundamental Forces, has been riding on the CMJ Jazz radio charts for 4 weeks, peaking at #21. Of it, Midwest Record Review says “Wright can fool you into thinking world one minute, rock the next, a touch of new age and back to the core of jazz… Nicely done, this set has a nice magic that works throughout.” This exciting collective of Rik Wright (guitar), James DeJoie (reeds), Geoff Harper (bass) and Greg Campbell (drums and percussion) has steadily gained a reputation in the Pacific Northwest for their stunning showcase performances.

10 p.m. MonkeyGoDutch

MonkeyGoDutch features original works by James DeJoie, heavily influenced by Yusef Lateef and Adam Rudolph, exploring world rhythms, textures and exploratory improvisations.  James DeJoie (reeds) with trusted cohorts of Walter White (bass), Greg Campbell (drums) and Steve Kirk (trombone) give this music an original and infectious sound.
